DVD Organization

When I'm in the right mood, I really enjoy reorganizing things. I was pretty good at my old job in retail because most of what I did was redo the way everything was organized in the back room.
Luckily with the eternal mess of craft supplies that keeps growing out of the corners of my room, I'm not without things to constantly put away. There's something really satisfying about keeping things in order in a very aesthetically pleasing way.
IMG_7349I have a lot of movies on DVD & Blu-ray. They were taking up way too much space in my tiny apartment, so I had to come up with a new way to store them all without scratching them up like crazy. Plus I like having the cover art with the disc, so I didn't want to just throw them all in a giant case.
Here is my solution.
These are the cases I decided to use. I think I've ordered them three times already because I have so many. There are plenty of different kinds you could use, but I really like these because they have two DVD slots per slip (for special features discs) and the front cover of all my copies can just be folded over and slips right in.
Voila.

You can see that the spine of the cases shows up easily when you lay them on their right side, so it's much simpler to navigate through them.
I found the free printable labels on Sweetly Scrapped Art.

The front labels came from Lilac & Lavender and I added the letters with this cute free font called Little Bird from one of my favorite free resources, dafont.com.
I can't find the maker of the wooden crates because I purchased them so long ago, but there are several affordable storage options available on Amazon.
I'm really satisfied with the way it all turned out. This is a great idea for any fellow movie lover.
